Held our Christmas Party at the Glassboat on the 4 December 2009 and across the board, everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The food was excellent, as was the ambience and the staff could not have been more attentive bringing extra portions when required. We were located in a lower room specifially for our party of just under 40. We did not have to wait long for the food and when it arrived it was hot and delicious, with a varied menu that more than satisfied our requirements. Having read more recently of guests who have been disappointed after eating here, we would certainly have no hesitation of booking this venue again based upon our experience.

Very disappointing experience on our last visit to the Glass Boat on Friday 4th September. Front of house had no recollection of our booking and whilst this was not a problem we had to wait some time for our table. Due to the lengthy wait and having made our selection from the menu we were informed that the items we had chosen were no longer available which was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I ordered a starter only to be told when the rest of my party's starters were being served that it was no longer available. Oddly my starter suddenly appeared. Clearly a communication breakdown somewhere along the line. My partner's main course of John Dory was overdone - inexcusable at these prices. The majority of the evening was spent with us having always to ask the staff for service which was irritating even to the point where there were only two parties (including us) in the restaurant and my partner had to shout over for coffee. The bad service ruined the experience for us on a special birthday occasion. Needless to say we did not leave a tip and will seriously consider whether it is worth going there again.

What a fantastic place to dine. The food was out of this world - my partner and I had the scallops, duck and seabass. The service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble for the wait staff. It was a great atmosphere, very relaxing, not rushed at all and with a great view of the river. Definitely will visit again.
